Having duplicate cleaning products will make cleaning easier, especially if you have an average size or large home. Store one set downstairs and one upstairs. Keeping cleaning products in each bathroom, even in a one floor house, can be a real time-saver. This keeps you from having to go back and get something that you may have forgotten.

Another suggestion is to store cleaning products in a small bucket and carry it with you as you clean. If you are able, use a multipurpose cleaner. This will decrease the amount of cleaners you need.

When possible, keep products relative to a room in that room. For example, don’t keep bathroom cleaning products under the kitchen sink. It may seem logical to keep all cleaning products together, but, it is much easier to keep them in the room where they will be used.

Cleaning products should always be stored out of the reach of children. Keep them on a high shelf or in a cabinet that is locked. Make sure the lock on the cabinet is durable if you decide to keep them in a locked cabinet. A preschooler can figure out the pressure release lock. If you decide to carry the bucket of cleaners as you go, take caution around children to keep it out of their reach.
